However by looking at the Office web site support section it appears that the latest version is is How long before it will auto-update to the latest? If that doesn’t work, boot the computer again and use the Manual method described in the original KB article.

I installed Office on my laptop using the DVD backup disk. However I realized that it had installed the 32 bit version rather than the 64 bit that I wanted to install. I’ve had the Uninstall running for over 8 hours now and it still says that it is at Step 2 of 4!
