Bought this ‘new’ copy of Windows I downloaded Windows 10 from Microsoft website, created files on a flash disk to install it from on my new machine. That worked and windows is on there.. Like other shoppers I was lured in by the price to find that the key was ‘already in use on another machine’ when I tried to activate. Plan B failed. Amazon held up their part of delivering promptly, thank you Amazon. The seller however..

Utter rip off. This product key was already registered to another PC, and on speaking to Microsoft should not have been sold.

Switched PC on and booted from the Win 10 Disk, followed instructions I decided on the Advanced install so that I could remove any Win 7 partitions, formatted the hard disk, then let it do a clean install of Win PC running very smooth and appears much faster. I did not need to type in the license key as Win 10 activated itself during the install. All updates done. So I decided to risk a purchase. I’d previously tried one of those ‘download W10 free’ websites, which packed up after a couple of weeks and meant a full recovery back to original W7 then painful manual upgrades.
